De Vere House has two guest bedrooms, named after the original owners of the house. The facilities in each room and the other areas reserved for guests are described below.
The John de Vere Room This room has a large carved four poster and en suite bathroom, with roll-top bath, shower, toilet and basin. There are many exposed beams and this is typical of the predominantly medieval period of the house.
The Lady Elizabeth Howard Room This room is slightly larger and overlooks the rose garden. It is Edwardian in style, having been added in the early 20th century. The room contains a double bed and en suite bathroom.
The Reading Room The oak staircase from the guest bedrooms leads to a cosy Reading Room or library with open fire and access to Water Street.
The Dining Hall Guests take breakfast in the Dining Hall of the main house accessed through the hall.
The Courtyard Garden. A small private garden for private use of guests (showing guest entrance and private gate onto Water Street.) |
We regret that due to the age and layout of the house, we cannot offer disabled access to our facilities.
The house is also non-smoking and we do not allow pets in the guest facilities.
